UNION Minister Dr Pe Myint of the Ministry of Information stressed the needs to put forward the measures already undertaken, the work still to be done, and additional advice and suggestions where necessary for the celebrations of the Myanmar Motion Picture Centenary and the Yangon University Centenary. Comprehensive discussions should be taken place at the coordinating meetings of the Steering Committee, the Work Committee and relevant sub-committees.
The coordination meeting was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information and attended by Union Minister Dr Pe Myint, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, departmental heads and officials among others.
Director-General U Ye Naing of the Information and Public Relations Department then explained the matters pertaining to the establishment and responsibilities of the Steering Committee for convening the Motion Picture Centenary in line with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Office of the President Notification No 33/2020 on 13 February 2020, the arrangements to form the Work Committee and Sub-committees and their respective tasks, and the participation in the Work Committees to organize the Yangon University Centenary celebration.
Next, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung clarified the broadcasting programmes of the Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) for the centenary celebrations of the Motion Picture and the Yangon University and the programmes to be broadcast in four parts of celebration periods – initial period, pre-celebration period, the periods during and after the celebration.
Afterwards, Director-General U Aung Myo Myint of the Printing and Publishing Department explained the plan to publish commemorative record books and the committees-wise participation in the preparatory work for the celebrations. Acting Managing Director U Thet Swe of the News and Periodicals Enterprise also clarified the news items for centenary celebrations already published in the Staterun newspapers and more news items to be published.
Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun then led a round of general discussions with the attendees.
The Union Minister concluded the meeting by instructing additional needs on the discussions.
