THE fourth meeting of the 47-member leading committee of the 8th State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee concluded at the Wizaya Mingalar Dhammathabin Hall on Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the member sayadaws of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maharattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Kyi Min and officials of the ministry. Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Ganhtavasaka Panditta Bhaddanta Dhammacara acted as the master of the ceremonies.
In his concluding remarks, Bhamo Saydaw Dr Bhaddanta Mumarabhivamsa called on members of the region and state Sangha Nayaka Committees to conduct multiple courses on the rules and regulations and procedures for solving the issues related with the Members of the Sangha for the perpetuation of the Sasana.
He also stressed the need for the leading Sayadaws of the Sangha Nayaka Committees in regions and states to become experts for carrying out duties for the religious affairs including rules and teaching.
Deputy Minister U Kyi Min also supplicated reports on religious affairs to the Sayadaws.
Afterwards, the meeting was followed and members of the 8th committee discussed the measures taken during the second period of the duty taken by the second branch of the 8th State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and made resolutions.
Members of the Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee discussed the religious issues and the meeting came to an end in the afternoon.
