The 18th edition of Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) meeting will be held on 12 March, and its secretaries from the government side and the ethnic armed organizations held their 25th meeting at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The meeting was attended by retired Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo, Major General Soe Naing Oo, Brig-Gen Ye Yint Win, U Hla Maung Shwe from the government side; Pado Saw Tardo Mu, U Myo Win, Saw Mra Yarzar Lin and Khun Myint Tun from EAOs; U Naing Ngan Lin, U Myint Soe, Sai Kyaw Nyunt, Tar Hla Pe and U Thein Tun.

They discussed matters related to substitutions of members and secretaries of UPDJC, resolutions of 8th JICM meeting, political dialogue framework, guidelines of UPDJC, principles for UPDJC secretaries, guidelines for work committees for political dialogues, and procedures for national-level political dialogues.

Secretary U Hla Maung Shwe, the government’s peace negotiator, said, “We discussed to prepare reports for UPDJC meeting on 12 March, and the Peace Conference is scheduled to hold in April.”
