Foreign nationals are temporarily barred entry into Myanmar through any border checkpoint starting from 19 March as a preventive measure against COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

However, tourists with visas can still arrive in or depart from the international airports in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, but still need to cooperate on preventive health guidelines.

Likewise, residents near the border with Myanmar who have border passes can still cross the border but are subject to strict temperature screening and health checks.
