UNION Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint delivered his address at the work coordination meeting of Centre for Myanmar Affairs Studies in Yangon yesterday morning.
At the meeting, the publication of journals on general knowledge and the holding of academic seminars since its establishment on 15 June 2016 were discussed by the participants including Director-General of Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) U Ye Naing and officials and resource persons of the centre, U Aye Maung (Aye Maung Kyaw), U Than Ohn (Maung Zeya) and U Ye Myint Kyaw. They also adopted its future work programmes.
IPRD established the centre on 15 June 2016 at No 228 on Theinbyu Road with the goal of revitalizing research programmes in Myanmar and publishing research papers, and holding academic seminars. It is now distributing journals on Myanmar affairs, international affairs and ethnic affairs and holding subject-wise seminars.
After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected the project site of the national film archives in the compound of Nawadea cinema at No 102 on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, Yangon.
