THE Royal Medical Emergency Response Team of Bhutan provided healthcare services to quake-stricken people together with the medics and nurses of Tatmadaw Medical Corps and Ministry of Health starting from 3 April at the temporary hospital (Paunglaung) established at Paunglaung Stadium in Pyinmana township of Nay Pyi Taw.
The medical team includes 87 members including specialists and performs major and minor surgeries by establishing two emergency operation rooms.
The team treated 180 students from Buddha Yadana Parahita monostatic school and over 100 people from 69 households in Zabuthiri township. Moreover, they donated a modern water purifier and a 2,000-litre water tank at the monastery. Moreover, they donated 240 packs of kid utensils and sports gear for the students, and Presiding Sayadaw Bhaddanta Pannyadipa gave back the black teak Buddha image statue for the King of Bhutan.
The medical team also installed the water purifier and 2,000 litres water tank at Khemathiwun Buddhism Learning Centre and Masoeyein monastery in Pyinmana Township and also donated 100 emergency personal kits, rice, cooking oil and sugar.
Similarly, the Tatmadaw medical team provided free medical services for quake-hit people and operated surgeries on 66 patients yesterday. There are about 60 inpatients and over 2,600 outpatients daily.
