Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.

On 18 and 19 April, the combined teams impounded four kinds of industrial materials that were smuggled and piled up by the side of a jetty worth K49.9 million in Kawthoung Township and illegal teak weighing 5.702 tonnes, hardwood weighing 0.318 tonne and other timers weighing 4.223 tonnes valued at K5.323 million in Bago, Toungoo, Pyay and Thayawady districts. The action was conducted under the Forest Law and Customs procedures.

The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported five arrests on 18 and 19 April, seizing illegal goods worth approximately K55 million.
