Myanmar authorities detained eight Filipinos for entering the Myawady-Maethawtalay and KK Park area in Kayin State via illegal routes yesterday.

Between 30 January and 24 April 2025, a total of 9,040 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 7,311 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the remaining 1,728 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.

The government uncovers the foreigners and those involved in the online scam to take effective actions and actively makes efforts to transfer the foreigners who face hardships for various reasons and trafficking victims of various foreign nationalities.
