The State has continued to firmly follow the democratic path under the leadership of President U Min Aung Hlaing after a free and fair multiparty democratic general election was held in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the people overwhelmingly cast their votes to elect a democratic government. During this period, a uniquely beautiful and large rough sapphire stone weighing 14,300 grammes (71,500 carats), discovered in Myanmar’s Mogok gem region in 2020, together with a sapphire crystal weighing 354.77 grammes (1,773.85 carats), were handed over to the State.
