ACCORDING to the Sagaing Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, 65 more hotels, motels, and guesthouses have been authorized to operate in the tourism destinations in Sagaing Region, in addition to the 42 hotels, motels, and guesthouses already operating there.

In eight tourist destinations in Sagaing Region, there are 42 hotels, motels, and guesthouses with a total of 1,214 rooms. An additional 65 hotels, motels, and guesthouses, offering 2,177 rooms, have now been authorized to operate.

“Sagaing and Mingun are highly attractive destinations for both local and foreign tourists. In October, more than 8,500 local travellers visited the Mingun and Sagaing areas. Likewise, over 2,700 domestic and foreign travellers arrived at the Monywa tourist destinations via air travel,” said an officer from the Sagaing Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

Among tourists entering Sagaing Region, 50 foreigners from India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, and Australia seek religious meditation in Sagaing and Wetlet townships for long stays.

Efforts are being made to ensure that both domestic and international travellers can enjoy their visits in a clean, safe, and secure environment throughout Sagaing Region.
