ACCORDING to the Association of Southern Shan State Traditional Hot-Air Balloon Professionals, the Taunggyi Thazaungdine Hot-Air Balloon Festival Competition will now take place from 11 to 17 November at Awayar Balloon Field in Taunggyi City, Southern Shan State, due to recent changes in the weather.

Originally scheduled from 9 to 15 November, the festival’s dates were adjusted to ensure safe and enjoyable conditions for participants and spectators. This annual event, an important traditional celebration for the Shan ethnic groups, draws not only local residents but also domestic and foreign travellers.
