Sports competitions of the Fifth National Sports Festival took place at relevant stadiums and gymnasiums in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Officials awarded winners in the men’s and women’s chained shot put, high jump, 400-metre x 4 relay race and 200-metre race events at the Inter-Ministry level.

The volleyball court of Wunna Theikdi Stadium hosted the men’s and women’s group matches of the Inter-Ministry Open Volleyball Tournaments.

The first round knockout matches of the Inter-Ministry men’s futsal sports and group matches of the Sepak Takraw men’s regu event were held at the same venue.

At the Inter-State and Region level sports, the men’s and women’s first leg matches of traditional Chinlone sports, and semifinal matches of snooker 6 Red singles, snooker 15 Red singles, quarterfinal matches of billiard singles, semifinals of 9 Ball Pool singles, snooker 6 Red double and 9 Ball Pool double were held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium (C).

At MICC 2, officials presented prizes to winners in the men’s and women’s bodybuilding and fitness physique, and table tennis sports at the Inter-State and Region level.

Semifinal matches of the Inter-State and Region U-25 women’s football tournament took place at Bawgawady Stadium and Lewe Stadium.

Quarterfinals of the Inter-State and Region Tennis Tournament were held at the central tennis court.

Moreover, Inter-State and Region weightlifting contest was held at the weightlifting court in Wunna Theikdi Stadium.

These sports competitions were attended by Union-level dignitaries, deputy ministers, regional and state ministers, departmental officials, those from relevant sports federations, staff, students and sports fans.
