The Senior General stressed the need for those cadets to participate in the health sector improvement process of the State in addition to serving the original duties of the medical services corps in relevant assigned areas.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the passing out parade of the 25th Intake of Defence Services Medical Academy at the DSMA parade ground in Yangon yesterday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said: Expertise and healthcare services of Tatmadaw medical officers are important for the health and fitness of Tatmadaw members as well as strengthening of the Tatmadaw, contributing to the high defence capacity of the State on the other hand.

He continued that they have to continuously pursue advanced medical knowledge based on medical education given by the DSMA to become qualified medical scientists to be able to keep abreast of international military medical scientists.

The Senior General stressed the need for the cadets to participate in the health sector improvement process of the State in addition to serving the original duties of the medical services corps when they arrive in relevant assigned regions.

He noted that Tatmadaw has to take part in giving better healthcare services for the people and contribute to daily socioeconomic security of the people in accord with the motto: “Nothing is important more than human life”.

The Senior General underscored that while providing medical treatment with the use of medical knowledge for patients with compassion and noble spirit, they have to serve military operation and security duties with sacrifice of life to maintain the fine traditions of Tatmadaw.

He pointed out that Myanmar society will recognize Tatmadaw medical officers as good men who are willing to make sacrifices for the many.

As military medical officers have to serve duties similar to infantry Tatmadaw members in defence and security duties of the State as well as military operations, they must try their best to become military leaders who can apply military manoeuvres, he added.

The Senior General left the parade ground after taking a salute of the cadet companies.

Also present at the parade were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Senior General, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Htein Win and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Sithu Tun Aung and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Union ministers and their wives, the Yangon Region chief minister and his wife, the Yangon Command commander, officials, parents and relatives of graduate cadets.
