Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presided over the coordination meeting on the successful holding of the 2024 Myanmar Film Academy Award Ceremony in Yangon yesterday.

During the meeting, the Union minister mentioned the due date for the event on 9 February 2025 and instructed the need to prepare a better event, select the qualified artistes for the academy award by judging panel, and choose the academy awards receptionists reviewing their skills.

He also urged the judging panel to select the academy awards reviewing the opinions of the public following the rules and regulations, and highlighted the systematic timetable for the event, innovation and creative performance and live streaming processes.

The attendees coordinated the discussion, and the Union Minister concluded the meeting.

In the evening, the Union minister inspected the “variety show” of MRTV and the Department of Fine Arts to be performed at a dinner event at MRTV (Yangon) marking the 77th Independence Day.

During the tour, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn enjoyed the 30-minute music session of the Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra and awarded the players and singers.

The Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra of MRTV is organized to entertain at the State-level ceremonies, receptions for foreign guests and on foreign trips.

Now, the orchestra is preparing and practising to perform at the dinner event for the 77th Independence Day.
