The Myanmar Maritime Police Force hosted the 2024 Annual Meeting on Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement Cooperation among Myanmar, China, Laos and Thailand yesterday morning. The opening ceremony was held at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, in Yangon.
Senior officials, including the Maritime Police Force Commander, the Yangon Region Police Force Commander, and delegates from the four countries, attended the event.
Myanmar Maritime Police Force Commander Police Brig-Gen Nay Moe Thet welcomed the participants, exchanged commemorative gifts and concluded the ceremony with a group photo.
After the opening, representatives from Myanmar, China, Laos, and Thailand continued with the Multilateral Meeting. They discussed law enforcement and security cooperation along the Mekong River, enhancing anti-drug operations and promoting economic development for people living in the Mekong region.
In the afternoon, Bilateral Work Talks were held at the same venue. Meetings were conducted between Myanmar and China, China and Laos, and China and Thailand to further strengthen collaboration.
