ACCORDING to manufacturing business sources, CMP factories producing various types of women’s shoes, travel bags, sports shoes and sportswear are receiving good orders.

“The current situation is the best for shoemakers. Lady Shoes factories are reportedly receiving good orders until the end of the year. Since it is the tourist season, travel bag factories are also in good shape. Sportswear factories have great orders. The number of sportswear makers increased,” said a business person.

Garment factories target to deliver previous orders before Thingyan and if there is no significant change, the order receipt after Thingyan will continue to be as good as before.

“Currently, foreign orders have been good until Thingyan. I think we will get more orders in March. Many garment operators are from China, including Chinese from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Europe. After the New Year, they are preparing to resume operation. By March, we can know the status of next year’s orders,” said a garment entrepreneur.

The factories provide free training to new workers, which can improve job opportunities and has attracted many people. The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) also offers basic motorized sewing machine courses for job seekers nationwide.
