UNDER the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade were continued effectively by the law. On 7 November, the combined teams seized a Hino Profia truck (approximately K30 million) carrying two types of consumer goods (estimated value of K564,000), without official documents at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint, a Nissan UD truck (estimated value of K25 million) carrying consumer goods and motorbike parts worth K7.2 million without official documents at the Yetha temporary vehicle checkpoint and consumer goods worth K8.15 million that were smuggled and piled up in the bus station compound in Kawthoung Township. The action was taken in line with Customs procedures.
