THE Maravijaya Buddha Image, the tallest sitting marble Buddha statue in the world and located at the Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, is crowded with nationwide pilgrims from 8 August.

The relevant officials conduct the necessary security checks in front of the image to be able to go on safely and peacefully in homage to the Buddha Image and help the disabled persons and the elderly by small vehicles and wheelchairs to go to the square.

A total of 945 personnel from 45 departments in the Yangon Region as well as 1,000 personnel from the Yangon City Development Committee under the arrangement of the Yangon Region government chief minister on a public holiday paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image yesterday.
