UNION Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe attended the opening ceremony of Mandalay University of Foreign Languages’ (MUFL) new Russian language course and seminar, held in collaboration with Shukshin Altai State University for Humanities and Pedagogy of the Russian Federation, and the Department of Russian Studies at MUFL.

Guests were welcomed with traditional Russian cuisine, and notable attendees included the Union minister, the regional chief minister, the Russian Consul to Myanmar, the deputy minister, and other officials sprinkled scented water the Russian language office signboard.

The second part of the ceremony occurred at Thiri Yadana Hall, where the Union minister emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting education promotion and the growing cooperation between Myanmar universities and foreign institutions through MoUs.

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung welcomed the establishment of the Russian language department.

Following this, Russian Consul Mr Pavel Kablukov delivered a congratulatory speech.

MUFL and Russia’s ASUHP shared a video clip, exchanged souvenirs, and took photographs. The Union minister and his team explored traditional cultural displays from various countries.

As part of the initiatives, the Union minister visited Yadanabon University, where he toured the library and arranged supply of books to both the university library and faculty libraries.

Similarly, the Union minister visited the University Research Centre at Mandalay University to promote research activities and underscored the importance of effective research equipment utilization and disciplined research practices.
