THE first day of the Mid-Year Gems Emporium 2023 was held at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

Starting in the morning, local and foreign jewellers were able to see pieces of pearl and jade lots on display inside the Maniyadana Jade Hall. They also enjoyed the jade lots on display outside the hall, and proposed prices were put in tender boxes.

The pearl lots will be sold on 21 and 22 October; gem lots will be sold on 23 October and jade lots will be sold from 24 to 28 October.

In addition, gems and jewellery shops are opened in the Maniyadana Jade Hall and are alive with shoppers.

At the emporium, 300 pearl lots, 160 gem lots, and 4,025 jade lots will be sold through an open tender system, and pieces of pearl and gems are priced in US dollars. Foreign jewellers can pay in the US dollar, euro, yuan, and Thai baht, and local gem merchants can pay in Kyat.
