THE 19th Asia Media Summit & Associated Meetings organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 1 to 5 September.

The summit anticipates hosting over 500 regional media practitioners from 50 countries across Asia, the Pacific, Africa, and Europe. Additionally, several Ministers of Communication and Information from the Asia-Pacific region will join the summit.

The theme is “Media: The New Odyssey”, and the summit will examine the shifting global dynamics and explore collaborative efforts for learning and advancements, various facets of AI in media and broadcast, and the importance of inclusivity and accessibility to empower diverse voices in these changing times.

In collaboration with various strategic partners, the AIBD will organize ten pre-summit workshops on 1 and 2 September and the main summit on 3 and 4 September.

Returning to Malaysia after nine years, the Asia Media Summit was last held in Kuala Lumpur in 2015 before travelling to various countries, including South Korea, China, India, Cambodia, and Indonesia.

Established under the auspices of UNESCO in 1977, the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) is a regional inter-governmental, international organization committed to broadcast and media development. AIBD plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and cohesive electronic media environment in the Asia-Pacific region.
