On Thingyan Atet Day, the people and staff played water with Eugenia sprigs peacefully in accordance with the customs of Myanmar avoiding the dances and music and also performed the good deeds in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

All the famous pagodas, temples and religious buildings were packed with visitors in Nay Pyi Taw, and the religious groups, pilgrims and staff were also donated flowers and oil lamps. Moreover, they recited Parittas, freed the animals and offered food.

Similarly, they welcomed the New Year by shampooing the heads of elderly people, cutting the nails and offering Myanmar traditional snacks and offered food to the monks.

This year, the people participated in Aye Thingyan festival in Nay Pyi Taw, and they played water peacefully at Nay Pyi Taw Mayor pavilion and offered free Myanmar traditional snacks.

Moreover, at the pavilions of Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan area, the people peacefully played water like brothers and sisters, and they washed the heads of elderly people, cut the nails and offered food for those participated in the festival daily. Such doings depicted the good-will of Myanmar people.

The Thingyan pavilions also included the wearing of Thanaka honouring the Myanma Thanaka for the efforts for inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and the people also participated in this programme happily.

Moreover, those participated in Aye Thingyin festival of Nay Pyi Taw avoided the inappropriate actions, and depicted the Myanmar traditional actions.

Similarly, the townships and wards were also packed with Thingyan pavilions and food donation events.
