A China-Myanmar aesthetic photo exhibition to mark their PaukPhaw Friendship was opened at the Strand Hotel in Yangon yesterday.

First, Mr Du Zhanyuan, Director-General of Foreign Languages Affairs Department of PRC, delivered an opening speech, followed by U Kyaw Win, Chairman of the Shwe Than Lwin Company, making greeting remarks.

Mr Xu Lin, Minister of the State Council Information Office of China, U Ye Naing, Director-General of Information and Public Relations Department, Director-General Mr Du Zhanyuan, Daw Than Than Nu, Chairwoman of U Nu Daw Mya Yi Foundation, U Khin Maung Lyn, joint secretary of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), Consul Mr Yang Shouzheng and Mr Xu Ling, in-charge of Chinese Cultural Center in Yangon, opened the ceremony by cutting ceremonial ribbons, followed by a group photo session.

“Sein Aye Myint” puppet troupe, together with Wai Yan Maung Art & Entertainment” performed a Myanmar traditional puppet show.

Following the puppet dance, officials from China and Myanmar, and guests observed the photographs inside the exhibition hall.

Mr Xu Ling said the Chinese Cultural Center selected the photographs for the exhibition, especially which are depicting the history, scenery and lifestyle of China and Myanmar.

Mr Xu Ling continued that President Mr Xi Jinping will soon visit Myanmar, and 70th anniversary of China-Myanmar diplomatic relations is in 2020.

When President Mr Xi Jinping comes, a China-Myanmar Tourism Year activity will be conducted in Nay Pyi Taw. Supervised by the State Council Information Office of China and Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, the photo exhibition was organized by Foreign Languages Affairs Department of PRC, Pyithu Yokesone Journal, Chinese Cultural Center in Yangon and Shwe Than Lwin Group of Companies.
