THE 58th mid-year Myanmar Gem Emporium will take place at the Maniradana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw between 19 and 25 October, according to the Central Committee on Organizing the Myanmar Gems Emporium.
The central committee will hold this emporium under the supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation. Myanmar’s precious gems for pearl, jade and gems lots will be exhibited at the emporium.
The first Myanmar Gems Emporium was held at Inya Lake Hotel in 1964. Last April, the central committee held its 57th Myanmar Gems Emporium at the Maniradana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw between 22 and 28 April.
At the 57th Myanmar Gems Emporium, the proceeds were levied at 11 per cent gem tax upon jade lots, three per cent upon service tax and five per cent commercial tax upon pearl lots.
