CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing re­ceived Mr Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India at the parlour of the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yester­day afternoon.

At the meeting, they frankly exchanged views on cooperation in security, peace and tranquilli­ty at the border region of both countries, further promotion of cooperation, cooperation in de­fence measures, situations of further enhancement of bilateral relations, trade promotion and increase of investment, imple­mentation of Kaladan Multimodal Project and prospects for direct maritime trade measures, fur­ther improvement of the border region, efforts for the rupee/ kyat direct payment in the bi­lateral trade sector, taking State responsibilities by the State Ad­ministration Council in accord with the Constitution (2008) due to voting frauds in the 2020 gen­eral election, implementation of the five-point road map, and efforts of Myanmar to improve relations with the international community including neighbour­ing countries.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the Foreign Secre­tary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India exchanged com­memorative gifts.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo. The Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India was accompanied by In­dian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Vinay Kumar.
