Union Minister for Information U Htein Linn inspected Sarso Beikman in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning.

The director-general of the Printing and Publishing Department briefed him on the Sarso Beikman building, literary exhibits, National Lifetime Literary Award recipients, biographies of award-winning authors, national-level awards, and other literary development activities.

He then visited the Sarpay Beikman Bookshop and Library on Merchant Road, Kyauktada Township, where he observed book sales and the work of the Sarpay Beikman Award Selection Committee.

The Union minister noted that Sarpay Beikman had previously enjoyed strong support from young people and a growing membership, and stressed the need to further promote membership while ensuring its publications continue to benefit young readers.
