The Myanmar Accountancy Council (MAC), in collaboration with the Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), yesterday launched a training on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) awareness and practical compliance at the Nawaday Hall of the Advanced Accounting and Auditing training school in Yangon in a hybrid format.

Union Auditor-General and Myanmar Accountancy Council Chair Daw Naing Thet Oo sent a video message to the opening ceremony of the event, and MICPA Patron U Kyaw Nyunt and MICPA Chair U Wan Tin made remarks.

Officials then conducted sessions covering the fundamentals of AML/CFT, the responsibilities of supervisory authorities and reporting organizations, preventive measures, reporting obligations, compliance requirements for the accountancy profession, and procedures for completing Off-Site Questionnaires. Participants engaged in discussions by raising questions and completed assessment questionnaires to evaluate their understanding.
