Fifty-nine students who were brought back to Myanmar from Wuhan, along with three health officials who arranged their return, completed their 14-day quarantine at the Kandawnadi Hospital in Mandalay and were allowed to return to their homes yesterday.


Before returning home, the students and officials, who were all found to be in good health, met Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe at the hospital.

THE Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra Concerts 2020 will be held in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw this month.


Entry to the concerts, which will feature artistes from Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) and Japan, will be free of charge.


The concert in Yangon is scheduled to be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 20 February at the Novotel Hotel. The concert in Nay Pyi Taw will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 25 February at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II (MICC-II).

NAY PYI TAW Council announced yesterday that it would enforce smoking ban and consumption of tobacco products in the council’s area.

The announcement came at a ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw to create more smoking free areas in the capital city after the Nay Pyi Taw Council made a public announcement on smoking and tobacco products control on December 23, 2019.

According to the announcement, the Nay Pyi Taw authorities would enforce its rules on prohibiting smoking at public areas in the city.

THE Criminal Investigation and Prosecution Committee held their first meeting at the office of the Union Attorney-General yesterday evening.

UAG U Tun Tun Oo, who is also chairman of the committee, first said ARSA attacked police outposts, police stations and a Tatmadaw battalion in northern Rakhine State on 25 August 2017. ARSA and security forces then clashed after this.
