Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Thu replied the Arms Act (1878) came into effect on 1 October in 1878 in Taunggyi, Kalaw, Lashio, Thipaw, Aungpan, Nyaungshwe, Loilem, Kyaukme, Panglong, Mongnai, Kengtung municipal areas under its Act No. 246, land areas of Myanma Railways and Loimwe.

FRENCH entrepreneurs met with their Myanmar counterparts at a business matching event organized on Monday at the headquarters of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
The French businessmen were led by Mr Francois Corbin, President of the French-Myanmar Business Council and ASEAN Committee for MEDEF International. They were accompanied by the French ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Christian Lechervy.

MYANMAR has seen a decline of opium cultivation in 2019 to 33,100 hectares, which was over 11 per cent drop from 37,300 hectares in 2018, according to the Myanmar Opium Survey 2019 report released in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The survey was jointly conducted by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) of Myanmar and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and it has been carried out annually since 2001, together with collecting socioeconomic data of locals in opium cultivation areas.
