1. The Ministry of Health and Sports is conducting surveillance for COVID-19 at international entry/exit gates, in hospitals, communities and in collaboration with private hospitals.
2. There are 38 new patients under surveillance between 24-3-2020 to 25-3-2020.
3. A total of 59 patients are under hospital quarantines as of 8 p.m., 25-3-2020, and the results of their lab tests will be made public in real time.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population held a meeting in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday with representatives of employees and employers to find solutions how to reduce the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic.
At the meeting, Union Minister U Thein Swe discussed ongoing and possible impacts, including closures of industries due to shortage of raw materials and lack of commodity supply orders, reduction of workforce, disputes between employers and employees, labour protests, unemployment and possible consequences from suspension of overseas employment programmes.

Chin State government has instructed the locals to stay at homes in Ketal village of Tiddim Township, Chin State, where the Covid-19 case was found.
U Soe Htet, the Minister for Development, Electricity and Industry of Chin State government, said, “The case happened some days ago. His wedding has also finished. The locals in the whole Chin State have been alerted to the risks of disease.
The Chin State government held an emergency meeting on control measures of this disease.

THE Kayah State government has formed various task forces to monitor entry/exit checkpoints to cities and at borders to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the state. The task forces also monitor border crossings for nationals returning through illegal means, and ensuring returnees go into facility quarantine for 14 days upon returning to their hometown.

Announcement of the application of loans from COVID-19 Fund by the enterprises hit by COVID-19
1. Under the decision of the meeting 2/2020 of the Task Force to Remedy the Economic Impact that may cause by Coronavirus (COVID-19), CMP enterprises, hotels and tourism services and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are designated as priority sectors that need remedy, and a COVID-19 Fund of Ks 100 billion has been set up to disburse loans to them.

1. It is found that people have withdrawn cash from banks than usual
since 24 March.
2. The Central Bank of Myanmar has been supervising the banking
services in efforts to operate the services smoothly, and have made
plans to ensure that the banking services operate in any situation.
3. The Central Bank of Myanmar ordered all banks in the country
on 13 March 2020 to make plans in efforts to continuously operate
their services.

A talk show programme titled “Thangyan Yin Khone Than” will be broadcast on MRTV and social media during the Thingyan Festival when its celebrations are halted.
The Ministry of Information, in cooperation with the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, the Myanmar Music Association, film producers, movie theatre owners, and officials from the Film Development Centre (FDC), organized the programme, which will include artists and experts who created the films about Myanmar Traditional Water Festival.

Updates at 8 pm, 24 March 2020
1. The Ministry of Health and Sports is closely monitoring and conducting surveillance on the Covid-19
at international gateways, at the public hospitals, community-based monitoring and private healthcare
facilities.
2. In doing so, there are 23 persons under the investigation from 6 pm 23 March to 6 pm 24 March.
3. A total of 25 PUIs are being given medical treatments at the respective hospitals till 8 pm 24 March,
and their laboratory results will be published in a real time.

The National Disaster Management Committee donated K100 million of its fund to the National-level Central Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment yesterday.
Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, the vice-chairman of disaster management committee, presented the cash donation to Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe, the secretary (2) of central committee.
Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye explained the donation of public funds to the original donors who are now facing against the deadly viral disease.
